MALLORY PARK, ENGLAND
JUNE 14 - POST TT BIKEFEST sponsored by CLASSIC BIKE MAGAZINE
Fifteen
Time World Champion Giacomo Agostini riding a 1967 Team
Obsolete MV Agusta 500 Triple was the star of the show. Ago
and John Cooper who was riding his trusty BSA Rocket Three, re-enacted
their famous 1971 Duel, where Cooper beat Ago
after recovering from a horrific slide. The MV that Ago rode is on long
term loan from Team Obsolete. Ago maintains the bike with the help of former
MV Agusta works mechanics Ruggerio Mazza and Lucio Castelli. The AHRMA
clone of Team Obsolete's Trans Atlantic Match RacesTM
(dubbed the Historic Team Challenge ?! or TransAtlantic Trophy Challenge
!?, depending on which spin doctor is doing the spinning) was an unfortunate
repeat of AHRMA's previous round in the USA. The competition was very one-sided,
with no USA riders able to challenge the Brits. Todd Henning, Jay Richardson,
and backmarker Will Harding all crashed out. However, there was plenty
of good racing in other classes run to IHRO rules. Stay tuned for Team
Obsolete's Genuine Trans Atlantic Match RacesTM
at Cadwell Park on July 25-26. Grand Marshall
is Jim Redman on the legendary Honda "Six". The line up is:
USA TEAM - CONFIRMED ENTRIES
500
750
UK TEAM - CONFIRMED ENTRIES
500
750
Team Obsolete is sponsored by Vanson Leathers, DomiRacer, Megacycle Cams, Red Line Synthetic Lubricants, Avon Tires, Works Performance, AirTech & R/D Springs.
